As the Victorian Hotel was built in 1898 with true Victorian Architecture, during the reign of Queen Victoria, we feel it is customary to share with our guests some history of this much celebrated monarch of the British Empire.

Queen Victoria was born on May 24, 1819. Following the death of her three uncles and her father, she became Queen of the United Kingdom on June 20th, 1837 and reigned until her death on January 22nd, 1901.

Victoria is still the longest-reigning monarch of the United Kingdom. During Victoria’s life, the British Empire expanded considerably, with the well known slogan of ” the Empire on which the sun never sets”.

Queen Victoria Birthday May 24
