Victorian Hotel is directly on route for the 1/2 marathon run, and just 7 blocks from the Full Marathon Finish line at W Pender Street and Bute Street.

As the Half Marathoners will be running along West Pender Street and then turning onto Homer Street to run past the Victorian Hotel, we’re welcoming all the marathon runners participating in the BMO Vancouver Marathon this Sunday, May 3, 2015.

The Victorian Hotel is hosting many marathoners and their families this weekend, as it is ideally located 7 blocks from the main Finish Line at West Pender and Bute Street.

Enjoy the view from the large guest room windows and cheer the marathoners as run by the Victorian Hotel in Downtown Vancouver.

This is an event designed for anyone who enjoys great exercise, getting outdoors  and seeing all of the beauty that Vancouver has to offer. Taking place on May 3rd, you are advantaged with a perfect seasonal display of the scenic city and beautiful weather that is not too warm or too cool. Whether you are an experienced “marathoner” or brand new to the experience, there is something that the BMO Fun Run will offer you.

Top Marathon Destination

It has been named a “Top 10 Marathon Destination” by Forbes. Vancouver’s very active citizens have been a main focus on the design of the city and thus, Vancouver is happy to offer a wonderful course for the 42.2 KM (26.2 Miles). You will find yourself running at seaside as you enjoy the famous “Vancouver Seawall”. Beautiful beaches will also be included in the backdrop, as well as many of the beautiful natural parks that flourish in the city. This is a Boston Marathon qualifier of course, so with the beautiful inspiration and support of Vancouver behind you, you will have the ability to make your goal.

BMO Half Marathon Option

If the full marathon is not your choice, you have the option of doing the “Half Marathon”. Though you will not be on the same course as the “Full Marathon”, you will be on track to see some of the very cool and diverse neighborhoods in downtown Vancouver. The beautiful glass infused Yaletwon to the historic area of Chinatown and all the way through the West End. The journey is filled with Landmarks and memorable pieces. Walk or run, this 21.1 KM adventure will take you around a beautiful segment of Vancouver.

Beautiful Route

The 8 KM run will offer you an equally beautiful route as you find yourself surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery that is Stanley Park, a landmark that adds to the beauty of Vancouver. With nature all around you will find it a beautiful transition into Coal Harbour where you will be near the bustling downtown finish line.

Kids Fun Run on May 2nd

If it is a day for the kids, they have you covered. Stanley Park will be host to the Kids Fun Run on May 2nd. The event supports our youth to get active, get moving and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Open to all kids with a flat rate of $25.00. Ages 5 – 12 are valid participants and will experience not only a wonderful, memorable day. But as well a free snack, a race shirt and bib. And make sure they hold onto the race bibs as at the end, they will be able to meet an elite athlete who will be happy to give out autographs. Make this May 2nd a day to remember for your family with the Kids Fun Run in Stanley Park.

New Relay Race Event for 2015

A new event has been added as of this year and is great for groups of friends, corporate clients or families. In teams of 2, 3 or 4, you will be dispersed amongst the city and end at the same finish line as all of the other Marathon runners. Taking the classic relay with a brand new twist, you will be timed with a chip inside the baton worn around waist. With a total of 42.2 KM to cover.

Free Canada Place Expo

And of course if you are going to enjoy the events, an important thing to take in will be the Expo. Being held at the stunning Canada Place, enjoy a wonderfully planned event on the water. Thursday through Saturday, the Expo is free to all participants. It is the hub of the runner engagement and the center of all things “BMO Marathon” So get up, get active and get outside to enjoy the spectacular event.
